and your Valentine will fall in love with these special occasion recipes. You can also find more Valentine's Day recipes in The South Beach Diet Parties & Holidays Cookbook. Check out our special offer at the end of the slideshow for more details.
There's no better way to rise and dine with a loved one than
with our delicious Smoked Salmon Scramble. This classic breakfast for two is
made with heart-healthy salmon, eggs, fresh chives, and reduced-fat cream
cheese for melt-in-your-mouth flavor. Serve with whole-wheat toast on Phase 2 with
some sugar-free jelly or jam.
This traditional French breakfast will have your sweetie
saying Ooh la la! The flavors of
Paris come to your table in these exquisite crêpes. We gave this classic dish a
healthy spin by using buckwheat flour, sugar substitute, fat-free milk, and canola
oil to prepare the crêpes, and then we stuffed them with juicy strawberries,
blueberries, and blackberries. Instead of sprinkling the usual confectioner's
sugar over the crêpes, mix ground cinnamon with a little sugar substitute of
your choice.
This heart-warming Balsamic-Glazed Sirloin Steak makes the perfect
entrée for a romantic dinner for two. The sirloin steaks are marinated in a
balsamic glaze for at least four hours or overnight, but they cook up quickly after
that. Serve the steaks with a side dish of ruby Swiss chard and enjoy a glass
of red wine like a cabernet sauvignon or malbec on Phase 2 to highlight the
color of the day.
If your beloved isn't much of a meat eater, our tasty
Grilled Tuna with Teriyaki Glaze may be just the thing. This Asian-inspired
dish features a delicious combination of flavors, including lower-sodium soy
sauce, dry sherry, and fresh ginger in the glaze and mango, and red bell
peppers as an accompaniment. Enjoy it with a side of brown rice or quinoa.
Nothing says "I love you" quite like this
heart-shaped dessert. Our blancmange is similar to an Italian panna cotta, but
uses unsweetened almond milk instead of heavy cream and fresh strawberries for a
refreshing twist. Top each blancmange with a heart-shaped whole strawberry and garnish
the dessert plates with some rose petals for another romantic touch.
Why buy a box of chocolates when you can make this
heart-warming treat yourself? Your sweetie will thank you for this labor of
love. Our dark-chocolate bark is sure to satisfy any chocolate lover's dreams
and makes a perfect-after dinner aphrodisiac. After you break the bark up into
serving pieces, consider wrapping a few in pretty cellophane to give as
Valentine's gifts to special friends.
