3 Ways to Dress Up Your Salad Dressings

Tired of the same old salad dressing? Getting creative with seasonings can make a big difference when it comes to taste and enjoyment. Try these delicious alternatives to standard oil-and-vinegar or mayo dressings.

For tuna or chicken salad:

(2 tablespoons per serving)

4 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
3 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
2 teaspoons chopped tarragon or basil
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste (optional)

In a small bowl, whisk together the oil and lime juice. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Use for tuna or chicken salad.

For steamed or grilled asparagus:

(2 tablespoons per serving)

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Sea salt
1 teaspoon lemon zest

In a small bowl, whisk together the oil, lemon juice, mustard, and pepper. Drizzle the dressing over the cooked asparagus and sprinkle with a sprinkling of sea salt and the lemon zest.

For shrimp salad:

(2 tablespoons per serving)

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon finely chopped red onion

In a small bowl, whisk together all the ingredients and use for shrimp salad.
