I am a 32 yo mom of a 2 year old son and a 4 month old daughter. I was already a little heavier than I wanted before I got pregnant with my son but had started to lose it on WW. Once I got pregnant I let it all go and by the end of my pregnancy and the postpartum recovery I was 20 pounds heavier than when I started. Then I got pregnant again and after I settled out after her I was over 40 pounds more than before I had children!
I have been doing SBD for 3 weeks and have lost 11 pounds. I have many goals, the first one  is another 14 pounds away.
I also work A LOT as an OBGyn resident and find it hardest to stick to it when I have to work 24 hours plus or when I am once again staring at the salad bar as the only viable cafeteria option.
I am hoping to find someone with whom I can share recipies, commiserate, encourage, and just check in with a few times a week. Wouldn't mind sharing the occassionally kid story either (I really like my kids).

Hi Helen,

I just started sbd today (well, technically restarted as I did it some 5 years ago before my wedding). I have a 9 month old son and have kept about 15 pounds of pregnancy weight gain.  As I had some to lose before, I am now aiming to lose 40 lbs! Wow, it sounds like a lot when I actually write it.

I'm not working again yet, but used to be a committed workaholic, so can imagine what you're going through. I have just managed to line up a part time nanny so I can get back in the gym, and a trainer to jump start my efforts there.

Congratulations on your 11 pounds gone! That's great work in just 3 weeks! Keep it up and I hope to be able to say I've lost a good amount by then, too.  Any tips on how to manage the first few weeks? Have you moved on to phase 2?

You are my motivation today. Keep it up!
B

I am a 30 year-old mom with a 4 year-old daughter.  I, too, have been carrying around that extra baby weight for almost 5 years now!  I just started SBD today and have high hopes.  My goal is 25 pounds by May 31st - my daughter's 5th birthday.
I teach first grade and run around like a mad woman!  I just finished directing a production for our Little Theater and am finally getting a few minutes back to myself! My husband and I are also in year 3 of trying to add to our family.  I figure getting obsessed with SBD will be a nice change from temping, chart watching and peeing on sticks (sorry if TMI!).
I am definitely looking for a few buddies who are busy moms with common goals.  Recipe swapping sounds great - and I've got kid stories out the wa-zoo!

Thnaks for the encouraging words last week. Read them on email but my work blocked SBD message boards so I didn't have a chance to write back. Would love to have some buddies who will help me stay motivated.
My advice is one that I need to take myself- pep your meals for the next day the night before.
How is your fist week going? Hope that it is starting off well. I( have 40 to lose as well, so I know what you mean about it sounding like a huge number. How did that happen?
We can do it. Stay motivated. Helen
