I originally joined the South Beach Online in 2003 and only lost 26 pounds by August 2005.  I finally got on track after that and reached my goal weight in September of 2007. My original starting weight was 263 and my goal is 160.  I am in a weight loss group where we have to stay 7 pounds below goal or 3 pounds above goal and I stayed 7 pounds below goal until the summer of 2008.  I started struggling with my cravings and kept gaining and losing and was staying between 163 - 166 pounds.   In August of 2008 I didn't make it back to within the two weeks that this groups and lost my weight loss status.  After that I started having a lot of emotional things going on - first we had a Hurricane Ike hit our area and we had over $60,000 damage on our house and, of course, since i am an emotional eater I found myself overeating every day - I stopped going to my meetings and gained over 20 pounds.  I finally went back to my group in January of 2009 but have only lost 6 pounds and seem to keep losing and gaining the same weight so I thought if I had a beach buddy it might help get back to my goal.

Good Evening,
60 year old Mother and Grandmother who is likewise looking for support to boost motivation.  I too am an emotional eater so can appreciate how this can affect one's efforts.
Moved back home to Missouri from New Hampshire one year ago after the death of my Father to care full-time for my ailing Mother. Would appreciate any support as I've never tried SBD, (my Dr. suggested my giving it a try).  Was a lifetime member of W/Watchers, moved across country with my job so never got back to meetings due to work schedule.

Hi losnwt,
I too am a second time around SBD person.  A lot of family problems lately, and of course, I've turned to food.  Had total hip about a year ago, and haven't exercised much since then.  Am returning to walking  tomorrow, and swimming at the YMCA in a couple of weeks.
I'm almost through with 1st two weeks on the diet, but had trouble with the sweets cravings, and cheated a little.  I refuse to weigh myself again until Monday (2 week mark).
Looking for a buddie for support too, and hopefully an exchange of advice and maybe recipes.  Lemme know.  thanks.

HI!! I am a 62 yr old mother and grandmother. I recently moved(Sept. 09) to Spring , Texas from Southern California after retiring from teaching. I joined SBD yrs ago and was not successful. I have attended WW and only lost a few lbs several yes ago. My weight has gone steadily up since my mid 30's, with various attempts to lose weight. I did lose some weight various times, however never kept it off too long. I am planning to stick to it this time and lose 115 lbs and keep it off. I don't like how I look with all this extra weight and I want to have energy and be healthier. Katherine
