In need of SBD Buddy... I am new to the SBD.. I've tried Atkins in the past but gained most of my wt back due to the limitations and restrictions.  I learned about the SBD from a friend who tried it in the past and maintained her wt.

Hi, I'm looking for a buddy too! I'm on my 6th day with the SBD. So far I'm doing well. I hope! I've been following it closely and I'm having fun with the planning and cooking. I'm 49 yrs old, almost 5-11 tall and weigh 256!!! Alot eh? I've been on many diets and plans in the past and probably lost about 400lbs in total. I never seem to have too hard a time losing it. But as soon as I get where I want to be I start gaining it back. I've done this about 5 times!!! I have no clue why. Does anyone out there have an answer for me??? HELP!!!!!!!  Hilary

Hi!  I know what you mean about gaining back once you get where you want to be.  I do that too!  Why do we do that????

Is this your first time to try SBD?  Have you lost any weight this first week?  I am going to try not to weigh until day 7.  Hopefully I can.

Let's keep in touch.  We might not know all the answers...but we can be on this journey together!

Talk to you soon!

Hi Jacque, thank's for writing back. I find the support on these message boards just amazing.Maybe things will be different this time. In answer to your ?. This is my 1st time on the SBD and I think I'm going to weigh myself on day 14. I'm such a nut when it comes to the "scale". If I've been doing everything right and I don't see the # represent that then it  gets me so discouraged. I'll see if I can hold out that long. I really do like the plan so far. Do you? It seems very healthy and something that could be followed in the long term. Which is what I need!! Talk to you soon, Hilary

I've had s similar history, newme. I'm the same height and have been up to around 250. Down and up like a yo-yo a number of times. Always felt deprived on diets (Weight Watchers, Nutrasystems, my own will power). I started SBD at 227 lbs, now at 198. And I don't feel deprived. Two reasons, I think. Phase 1 really helped in reducing my craving for sweet and salty treats. It did not quite eliminate them, but by wife went on SBD when she saw my results, so I did Phase 1 again with her. I felt a real sense of difference in my treat cravings after a month of Phase 1. Just did not spend much time thinking about snacks. When I felt stressed and did look to eat nervously, I stuck to dairy, pickles, olives, fruit, nuts, celery with filler, and after Phase 1, an occasional Ak-Mak (whole grain/sesame) cracker or two with Laughing Cow cheese, hummus, or something I found in Trader Joe's: spicy Indian lentil spread. I have also done the diet soda thing--never used to drink carbonated drinks (not good for you in many ways), but I like the flavor and fizzy hit during the weight loss phases.

Bottom line: I think I am still a compulsive eater when stressed, but SBD cures the blood chemistry part of that in Phase 1 and makes it much easier to control. I feel I have a better shot at sticking with the eating habits I am currently on.

Also, went on vacation last week, did OK first 3 days, but wound up putting on 4 lbs. Came home and did a modified Phase 1 (cereal in morning, 2-3 fruits a day) and have dropped 3 lbs in 5 days back. That's very encouraging.

Anyway, that's my story. Enjoy hearing your stories. Keep 'em coming.

I am having the worst time navigating this website.  Anyone else experiencing this?  It takes forever for me to find any of the threads I have posted on.  Maybe it is just me...

Anyway, how was your day?  I hope all went well and that you were able to stay on track.  I've browsed through some of the recipes and found a few I want to try.  I have managed not to weigh myself...which is hard for me.

Hi rholiday.  I am new to SB, also, and have switched over from Atkins as well.  I did ok for a while on Atkins, but gradually I stopped losing, and now my triglycerides are so high that I had to look for a healthier alternative.  Hopefully SB will be it for me, and for you, too!

I know what you mean. These threads are very hard to navigate. It takes me about 20 minutes each time I log on to figure out how to find what I posted before!

This is my second go at SB... I was successful about 2 years ago. I need to get back on track. Trying to lose 20 lbs.
