You sound like me.  I am a 59 year old wife, mom, grandma and like you said more than that.  I enjoy the time in the kitchen also but most of our meals have to be pretty quick.
I work and stay on the go alot.  I live in Tennessee and the fresh fruits and veggies are great.  I am afraid that even if I manage not to stray, my downfall will be giving in to easy meals at night rather than SBD meals.  I am really new to these message boards so not sure how to find my way around too well yet.  I have about 50 pounds to loose so I expect this to take a while.

Here is to the new me also.  Lets do this thing!

Well I have lost 6 lbs so far after 16 days of being on the plan.I also find the prep time before dinner at the end of a work day a bummer. I do really love the food because I have food allergies so I can control the ingredients. I have had 2 meals out since starting the plan and find that has encouraged me to make better choices when eating out. I am still strugging with evening snacking. I bought myself a handheld solitaire game to keep my hands busy. Well chat back when you can and keep up the good fight.

Fight the good fight!  Keep up the good work!

I have found that Sunday afternoon prep/cook/chop vegetables and other things help me out tremendously throughout the week.  For instance I will make chicken salad on Sunday for a few meals.  Anything I can prepare ahead of time it most helpful to me.

I really like the idea of the hand held solitare.  When I get the munchies bad, I tell myself it is time to go do a chore I don't like.. it will get rid of the urge to eat when I shouldn't.  That usually involves cleaning the bathroom or something.  Sometimes you just have to walk away and go for a brisk walk:)

What other things do you do that help you keep your mind off those viscious snacks calling out?

So good to find someone of similar age to chat with. I am also a wife, mother and grandmother from Tennessee who is starting out on this new venture.  I recently lost 40 lbs. but due to a CRAZY summer have allowed 10 lbs. to creep back up on me.  I have an additional 50 lbs. to lose to get to my ideal weight.  I've done SBD before just by using the book and I was somewhat successful, but didn't put my whole heart into it at the time.  I'm now recently retired and I'm ready to be a little selfish and TAKE CARE OF ME for a change, but I need support.  Here's good luck to all of us...
