I"ve been on the diet for about 5 weeks now and I'm struggling.  I'm 42 and I need to lose 30 lbs and it seems as though it's always an up hill battle .  I exercise intensely but in the summer I cheat a lot because I don't self control when I'm around snacks and alcoholic beverages.  I feel if maybe I have a buddy to report to I'll be a bit better.

thanks for your advise and support

Hi Jenn,

Do you have a buddy yet? Sounds as though we have some things in common. I will be 42 in December and I am new to SBD coming from Atkins. Have been dieting for a year and have lost 56lbs but need to lose 40 more. I am really struggling and I need some support and encouragement from others outside of my family that are going through something similar to me. If interested let me know.

Hi!  I saw your reply to Jenn - and thought we have some things in common too.  I lost 60lbs from last Sept-this past April and then hit the longest, craziest plateau - since April, chasing the same 1-3lbs around.  I work out 5-6 days per week, and keep changing up the exercise...I rarely 'cheat' - and if I do, it's on something like a bowl of bran cereal....never cake/candy/etc.  The thing is, I build muscle very quickly, so the 60lbs I lost was without working out at all - because when I exercised, the scale would go up and I got frusturated, so I stopped all together which was hard for me, because I am one of the weird ones that likes to exercise.  Anyhow, I started working out again in April, which is when the plateau started - and I don't want to give up the exercise.  It makes no sense to me!  I have another 25lbs to go to be where I want to be on the scale.  I would love a friend to chat with who is doing this too!

I'm so sorry it has taken this long to write back but I went on vacation =
on the 7th and just got back. I hope you are doing well on your weight =
loss journey. As for me, I really really blew it!! I am not sure what to =
do to be honest. I feel like I have lost lots of steam and I don't quite =
know how to get it back. To be honest, it has been a little tight =
financially and as we all know it cost to eat well. I have been having =
to eat what is here and that hasn't been anything good. I am just gonna =
have to buckle down. I just need to find the buckle!!! If there is =
anything I can do to help you I would be happy to. I wish you so much =
success.
