One week into Phase 1-Need a buddy!
I'm 46 years old, just completed my first week and lost 5lbs. Have 45lbs more to lose and get the husband thing. My husband travels constantly and when he's home open's a big bag of chips and offers them to me aaaagghh! I lost my pregnancy weight after my first daughter 15 years ago but have struggled ever since my second daughter. Due to our constant transfers and my husband's travel I am a stay at home mum who gets lonely, depressed and tired and have struggled extremely hard since hitting perimenopause, suddenly craving things that have never really bothered me in the past. Also have a hard time with housework, finances, yardwork, taxying the kids to archery, dance, music lessons and now coaching Girls on the Run for Middle School girls have committed to 5k run in May! to fit in making good nutritional meals for myself, this week has been challenging and time consuming but hopefully it will get easier. I'm already feeling the health benefits of the healthier diet and am determined I am going to get more active this year for myself.
I'll be happy to be your buddy. I'm new to SBD, too...very new! I'm a bit older than you (53), and at home while my husband works. I had to stop working last year because I got ill, and I gained a lot of weight in a short time due to the medications and the lack of activity. Now, for the first time in my adult life I'm home a lot. While it's nice in many ways, it does get lonely!
Our 3 kids are young adults, now, and they are all busy. I miss them! It's like feast or famine with kids: while you are raising them, they need so much attention, and it can be overwhelming. Then, when they do go out on their own, you wish you could see them every day!
I hope you are doing well, stay the course, and be proud that you are taking care of yourself. You're the best role-model for your kids!
Hope your day goes well,
Sandy
