I am 35 years old and am joined up with SBD to loose 110lbs.  I hit over 300 on the scale and I
need this for me.  For once in my life I need to put me first.  I could sure use some support and in return I will support back as best as I can!

Hi Tina,

I am 26 years old and am trying to lose 72lbs which will put me at the high-end of my healthy weight range.  Once I am there, I plan on shooting for the middle of that range - probably another 15 pounds or so.  It's not quite 100 lbs, but its still a substantial amount and I think we would be good motivators for each other.  I too am looking for someone on here for support and who I can support in return - things like this are best done in teams! :)

Let me know if you'd like to be buddies :)

Hi, I am in the same boat with you. I have about 150 lbs to lose. I would be satisfied if only I could lose 50 or so this year for health reasons as well as self-esteem reasons. I would be very happy to correspond with you. I only started 8 days ago. Have you been on this program long?

Hi hi :)
I'm 45 years old, single mom.  I stepped on the scale and it was 264lbs.  I've never been that heavy and wonder how and why I let myself get to this point.  I too am looking for someone to take this journey with.  I'm very new to south beach but so far am feeling pretty good on it.  I have some emotional eating issues but I imagine that's a pretty familiar story for people in my shoes.  Good luck to everyone and if anyone wants to keep in touch I would be thrilled to work on this together.

I am currently 245 and want to be 150 so almost 100 pounds. About 3 months ago I was about 265 so I have lost some but I haven't been eating right and not eating a lot so I figured I should try a different approach. I could really use all the help I can get.

I just joined your group. I am in the same situation as you all. I have about 150# to loose. Had lost 100# on SB in the past so I know it works, but then had some distress and learned that I didn't quite have it all together an gained back 70# over the last year. It has been a real hard pill to swallow and very hard to get started again. I keep saying I'm going to but just keep gaining. When the scale hit 270 and I realized I was only 30# from were I started, well that was it. I can't do this alone any more.  One of the blogs I read that Dr. A put out was that we have to reach out.  Sooooo here I am.

Hello to all beachers, I too have about 110# to lose. Had been on the beach before and lost 95. Then lost my job of 35 years, my mom died and then my dad died. Gained it all back and now I'M back. No more stress in my life, it's all about me now. Ready to start the next phase of my life, healthier. Good luck to all, we can do it.

HI
I also have 100+ to lose so can empathize.  I am almot 51 and am struggling with a job I don't like, while trying to remind myself I am lucky to have a job!  Not very happy with my life in general and know that my weight is preventing me from becoming more involved in fun things.

I just joined about 5 minutes ago and am looking this site over.  This is my first post, and a very difficult one for me., but I'm going to type it anyway.  I am 500+ pounds, 56 years old, and have a list of health problems that keeps getting longer instead of shorter.  I've pushed myself to join SBD.  It's either join here or wind up in the hospital -- or worse.

I tried South Beach a few years ago and it worked, though I can't remember why I stopped.  Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting people here, finding and being a cheering section, and getting healthier.

Nice to meet you all.  I'm not sure how to connect with a diet buddy.  Perhaps someone could tell me.

Thanks!
Belle

Hi All,

I have over a 100 lbs. to lose, I moved away from Sunny Florida and fell into a deep depression, and gained all the weight back from when I was pregnant and then some. Before the "baby wieght" for a lack of a better word. I was at a happy 125 lbs. before my first and only pregnancy. So this time I am going to lose the wieght and KEEP IT OFF!!  not a noob to SB and it has worked in the past. I am new to the SB website though.

Just wanted to give you alittle back ground on me, so I can make some friends who could possibly relate in one way or another. I'm learning slowly how the site works, so bare with me.

  Best of luck everyone

Let's share tips and recipes I hope to learn from everyone and help those who need it.

Hi Connie!  I just re-joined today and I have about 100 to lose, give or take.  It's hard to imagine geing that small, so I'll see how far to go when I get closer.

I'm scared too!  Or maybe it's more like pessimistic....

joined SBD just 10 minutes ago and have to go around 130 lbs... I'm 42 ys. old and had a late family restart (24 months old B/G twins and 12 months old girl) and the twin-pregnancy included 4 months strict bedrest at the hospital, this was as i hit the mountain.
I know it will not be easy at all to stay on a working diet with 3 small kids 24/7 around = sleep disorder and RA (and of course missing my whole family who lives in Germany) but it's sticking in my head that i need to do some efective and that's the 1st step already.

To have a buddy around for all daily ups and downs sure would be a big help to stay on right path.

Don't know yet how exactly that whole Buddy thing works here on the platform, so please let me know and contact me.

Hi,

I just started South Beach today.  I weigh 234 and want to get down to 150 as well.  How has your weight loss been going?

My name is Theresa. I am a 42 year old registered nurse. I can't believe on the scales this morning I weighed 328 lbs. I have signed up for South Beach and also the registered dietitian with SB. I am hoping to begin my descent back down to a healthier and happier weight for me. I would appreciate the support of another in the same position.

I work full time and I have a 16 year old daughter and an 18 month old son. Yes you read that correctly. My life is busy and I need this diet to be filling and easy. Any tips on making it more convenient would be appreciated.

Look forward to chatting!

Theresa

Hey Theresa! I'm a 33 year old registered nurse ;) I have been married for almost ten years to my wife Suzie and have two beautiful daughters; Zoe who is 6 and Maya who is 3. I just graduated nursing school and now work the night shift in the telemetry and oncology section of the hospital. I gained about 25 lbs in school and the night shift is proving to be a hard shift to eat right. I'm having trouble finding male 'beach buddies' so I'm starting to reach out to these forums. It's great that u are an RN as well. I just hit the store and am planning on starting tomorrow. If you would like, let me know how things are going for you. Otherwise, good luck!

Hello. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I can imagine how hard it must be to be a guy on this board. How funny I am also, an oncology RN, however I hung up my scrubs and now I work behind a desk in Oncology Clinical Trials. I spent about a year on a telemetry floor but found it not to be my cup of tea.

It is great that you are taking charge of your health, and I am sure it will make keeping up with your little ones a lot easier as the weight comes off.

How much weight do you want to lose? You mentioned 25lbs, is that your goal?

Let me know how it is going for you and any pitfalls you experience in the early days, as it appears you will be about a week ahead of me. I am starting on Monday!

Theresa

Greetings Theresa and Murseman- I also have just started South Beach and would love to correspond with other folks who have a challenging amount of weight to lose.I am starting at 250 lbs and want to get to 150 at least. I am a recently retired RN, having left a job I loved in a psychiatric clinic after 20 years. So now I finally find myself with more time to concentrate on getting this weight off. My husband is diabetic and has had bypass surgery, so I am trying to find a lot of good recipes to use in my diet that will also be healthy for him.  My short-term goal is to get into the summer clothes that I was wearing two years ago by June and then go on from there. I wish you all the best of luck on your journey and hope you have a few minutes occasionally to keep in touch with me.--Deb

I just joined and I am looking for a SB Buddy.  I have 60-70 lbs t lose and am widowed.  I live in Oregon and want to get out and walk for my exercise to build endurance.  Tried to do dance exercise on Demand Exercise on TV and could not last 2 minutes!   I do work and have a friend in Washington  that I visit off and on and he visits here.
I am new at this and have never been on SB before.  So I am looking for any help I can get and I am a great support and encourger.
