Hi bbmommyl
I just re-joined SouthBeach. I went on Nutri System and the food made me sick and gave me stomach problems. I have learn that this is really a way of life not a diet.
My name is Robin, I am a single mom with two teenage daughters. I have a huge job, I am finishing my masters, teaching.
I would love to have a Diet Buddy so if you are "game" so am I.
I need to lose 15-18 lbs..I say 18 since that would bring me in at a weight I haven't been at in years.
I hope to hear back from you.
Happy New Year and here's to good Health!
Robin

Hey Ladies!  You both sound a lot like me.  I am also a teacher who works more than full time with two teenaged boys and one 11 month old daughter.  I also believe South Beach is a way of life, and I'm ready to embrace that way of life again.  This pregnancy sort of side-tracked me so I'm hoping to have the success I had 5 years ago and get back down to a reasonable weight for someone my height.

I've sort of started Phase One yesterday, but I've already been cheating since there are still so  many unhealthy foods in the house from the holidays.  I need a buddy who will not let me off the hook!

I know I cheated yesterday and today..I have to get myself totally motivated. Ok starting tomorrow why don't we both tell each other what we are eating. This way I think if I know someone is in the "trenches" with me..I will keep going.

Hi, i am really looking for a diet buddy too! I am planning on starting phase 1 tomorrow 1/4/10. I am looking in losing about 35 pounds. I have done a diet almost like this a couple of years a go and lost about 30 pounds but i have gained most of it back. So i said this time and time again that i was really going to start this southbeach diet and take it all the way. Hope to hear back from you. Good luck, jessmontoya

I also started the eating plan today (01/04/2010) and have about 42 lbs to lose. I was a WW member several years ago but all the measuring and weighing of the food was a pain. I hope to be successful with this. I have 7 active grandkids that I like to hang out with and need to keep up!

Great to hear from you!   I've been really sick with pneumonia and frankly the SBD was not on my priority list.  I'm getting better but have totally not been on the plan.  I"m having trouble getting started.... advice?   Anyone have any good breakfast ideas that don't require too much work?

It's really hard working full time, being a mom, keeping up household chores... etc.  Dieting is probably the last thing I want to do, but I must do it.  I am having the worst time getting started?  Any advice on breakfast ideas and busy mom lunches?

Oh... wedding?   Sounds like we need to get in gear and get started.  My brother is probably about the pop the big question to his girlfriend.  I see having to be in or attend a wedding soon and probably wouldn't be able to find anything to wear right now...  I've gotta get started soon.

Sorry to hear you have been sick. Hard to diet when you are not feeling well. I was good all week and really blew it over the weekend.
I really need to be motivated and I am having a hard time.
I eat oatmeal with fruit for breakfast, I know it isn't on phase one but I started on phase 2 since I really need my fruit.

Hang in there . I modify this diet a lot, but I stay away from sugar and starches.

I eat lots of fresh fruit and protein.

Sugar is worse than fat, I think that when the world finds out, there won't be anymore fat people. What do you think?

I think the best way to reduce  is to drastically reduce your carb intake and increase your proteins.

I have been doing that for a while now and have lost several inches. I seem to lose more inches than pounds, but it's all good because I see progress.
