It is so much easier to work on this, when you work on it together with others! I sent you a buddy request:) We can do this! char

Hi, I'm a 34 year old mom of 5. I am home during the week and work weekends. I've been doing South Beach for 3 weeks now and would love to be your buddy. Let me know, and good luck.

Thank you for the words of encouragement.  Not really sure how this online program works still figuring it out.  I realized this morning I hadn't even checked in YIKES.  How long have you been on SB?  Do you feel like you are being successful?

Hope you have a fabulouse day and successful weekend!

WOW, a mom of 5!!!  What ages are your kids?  How much sucess are you having with the SB program? How much weight do you want to loose?

I am starting to feel better just have such a hard time in the evenings and if we are out on the weekends?  My weekness is wine, and snacking in the evenings. I love to have a good glass with dinner or after dinner or both and just relax catching up with my husband when he is home.  I started last Wednesday then went out of town and of course had wine with dinner.  I am trying to just take one day at a time and trying to excerise min of 5 days a week but changing my eating and (drinking) habits is SO HARD!

I really need to have a contact of support just accountability to ck in with, I know pretty pathetic.  My husband works crazy hours and travels for work (is supportive) when arround but I can figure out any way to have a bad dieting day, ha ha.  My oldest has weight issues and is tackleing those, so we try and support eachother but it is still hard to break BAD habits.

I know I am rambling, sorry.  I guess I just needed to get that out.

Would love to have an accountability partner if you are interested?  Not exactly sure how all this online features work but will try and get bettter.

Have a great day!

So glad you are here:) We have 7 kids and my husband works weird hours because he is a policeman. I think it is very important to have accountability from someone who is doing this with you. This is my third week on South Beach (2nd week online) and I have lost 4 lbs so far. I feel great and am having a fairly easy time with the food now that I understand the plan.

I think the best place to start is to go to My Tools and then click How to Adapt My Plan which is listed under food and recipes. That gives you a list of the portions and amounts of everything so that you can eat the real food that you would eat every day.

Also getting advice from long time members who have met their goal has been very helpful.

Hope you have a great night and I will check in on you this weekend! char

Thanks for writing back. My children are a girl 14, a boy 11, a girl 9, and twin girls 5. Very busy around our house, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. This of course is why I only work weekends. I am a registered nurse and I work labor and delivery on Sat and Sun. My husband is a paramedic and we have been married 15 years. Sunday I will start my fourth week on SB. The beginning was very hard, especially cutting out all the carbs. I had a horrible headache for about two days. Once that resolved it got better. I helps tha my husband is doing the diet with me. So far it has been going well. This past Sunday after a completed two weeks I had a lost a total of 11 pounds. My goal is to lose 90 pounds. I have been cooking a lot of the SB recipes from the book and the website, and they are pretty good. There are times when I want to snack and I just have to ignore that feeling and believe me it isn't easy. Especially when I'm baking cookies or brownies for my children. I have tried the sugar free pudding and it definitely helps with the sweet cravings. I too like to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner but I haven't started back with that yet. I would love to be your accountability partner. I am also trying to figure out how this online stuff works. I didn't know we were suppose to check in until you mentioned something about it. I think it would be great to have another woman to talk to and check in with going thru the same thing I am. By the way....how much are you wanting to lose? I hope you have a great evening and hopefully you are not in the area the hurricane is headed to. If so, please stay safe. I am located in SC, but it looks like we are going to miss the worst of it. One more thing....my name is Adriane :) TTYL

Love all the support I can get.  Thinking that we should start a thread that we can ck in with on a regular basis.  Not very tech savy so not sure if we should start a thread on this board???  Will let you know what I come up with.

I am having a hard time sticking with program in and out of town too much.  I am sad summer is coming to an end but at the same time it will be nice to have a routine and schedule again.  How long have you been on SB?  What is your feelings for the program so far?  I have dieted pretty much my whole life and feel like I feel bettter physically when I stay on the SB program but I guess time will tell.

Have a great day.  Finishing my coffee and then off for a walk/run or whatever it turns into!

ya--we should figure out a better communication thread... i've been 'on' SB for 2 weeks. not doing a good job of staying on it though. not able to cut out fruits & starchy veggies... given the summer season. now this week i'm craving real bready-carbs and sweets, which i don't normally do. hmm.

i haven't lost any weight either... not a complete surprise i suppose, given i haven't been following it that well. i also have been dieting of sorts for most of my adult life (36). the only way i lose weight is when i'm too busy to eat & it's been a long time since then!

my little one is too little to be going off to school--that will be nice to have a routine again!!

how are things going for you?

thanks for being a buddy :)
