Hi all!

I started on May 5th, 2010, and am thrilled that I've lost 13 pounds so far!  I'm a 24 year old single girl living in New York City.  I have an amazing job, beautiful friends, a cheap AND large apartment (it's a real estate miracle!), and the world's cutest dog.  Life is pretty good!

However, my weight has always been something I've struggled with.  I still grapple with my own personal insecurities which are still holding fast, and are about as old as I am.  I look back at photographs from when I was 18 and can't believe how incredibly beautiful and THIN I was.  But I remember feeling the absolute fattest girl in the world.  I am trying to figure out why I have such poor body image, and take everything one day at a time as I try to change my life.

I'd love to have a diet buddy around my age (though open to all!) who understand's what it's like to have over a hundred pounds to lose.  It's something I feel uncomfortable talking about with my friends and family - not my diet, so much, but about how very far I have to go.  I hope there's someone out there who could benefit as well, and we can work towards our goals together!

Thanks so much for your time - have a lovely day!!

Hello!  I am right there with you.  I currently at 264 ( the highest ever) , just turned 30 2weeeks ago, and  I would love to get down to about 14-160lbs.  I was diagnosed with diabetes 3yrs ago and at that time I lost 60lbs, but that was due to my medication not a lifestyle change.  I met my future husband and moved in with him, and while planning our wedding I gained it all back and had to exchange my wedding dress for a larger size..talk about embarrasing.

My biggest downfall is fast food.  I actually like to excerise but prefer to do it with someone.  I am going Sat. to do an orientation for group cycling.  I'm hoping to ride in the Tour de Cour in August.  It's a 12 mile bike ride benefiting diabetes.

I completely understand not being able to talk to your friends and family regarding how much you need to lose.  I haven't even told my husband.  I don't understand how I could go back to weighing so much.  I would love to be your "diet buddy" and help encourage you any way I can.

Sheila

Yay!  I'm excited!  Thanks so much for writing back!

I started at 261 and am now at 245 (what what!) and right now my goal weight is 150.  I think we'll be perfect buddies!

Talk to you soon!
