2010 New Year's Challenge: Week One Pictures and Weigh-Ins

Hey all,

I'm glad to see all of the excitement for this New Year's Challenge. Each week, we'll post a thread for members to submit their weigh-in info; in addition, this week we're asking members to post their "before" pictures.  

Also, if you could do us a favor, since we're expecting a large number of posts, please limit this thread only to weigh-ins and pictures. Please submit your questions for our guest speakers and volunteers (and each other) in the weekly official thread.

To insert your photo: When you're posting a message, look at the section above the field in which you type in your message. There's a group of three boxes with "Insert Item" written above them. The center box is used to insert your image. It will open up a prompt that asks for the URL of your image (the picture must be hosted on another site in order to show up; you can't use a picture that's only on your computer). You'd need to upload that photo to a photo-hosting site like Photobucket. Once it's on another site, just copy the Web address (the URL) of your photo into the appropriate field here. (Click on the middle box under the heading "Insert Item.")

Not sure if this is where I am supposed to post but I think so...so here it goes. I am 38 years old. My current weight is 239.6. I joined SB right before Thanksgiving. Although I haven't lost that much, I did meet my goal of maintaining through the holidays. Now I am looking forward to really beginning the program and seeing some weight loss. Don't have a pic yet...but will get it posted shortly.

Candy Eddinger - 145 is my start point and I am going to 130.  I am looking forward to the Challenge. So far day 1 has been ok - getting used to no bread in the morning will be the hard spot for a few days!

Weighing in at 149.8  Gained a few pounds over the holidays but I am confident I am off to a great start.  I'm excited!  The ticker is incorrect but I am trying to figure out how to eliminate it.

I will post a picture as soon as I can get to a web site that lets me store a picture - seems like a long way around to get a picture posted.  January 4 weight is 231 pounds. I also posted the weight on my weigh-in space.  There is so much to learn about navigating this site - and I consider myself pretty computer-savy!

Yeah, it is there...too bad it is so big!

I am beginning SB Diet again after having fallen off the wagon a year ago!  I am going to be 53 in a few days and am weighing in at 208#.  My goal is $150.

I am ready to get started on the challennge, but have been unable to locate a
site. I live in Terre Haute and been on program since after Thanksgiving. I have
lost 14 pounds. My current weight is 200. Thanks. No picture as of yet.

Hey Shawn,  great to see you!  I am weighing in at 164.8pounds.  It's about a half pound down from last year.

Love your picture!  I'll post my latter today, but am having trouble figuring where to connect to the call in.

Today I am rededicating to the SB Lifestyle.  I have dieted all my life.  Since 2004 with SB help I had lost approx 70 lbs. I begin a fresh start today...with my weight of 240.  That is still 20 something pounds less than what I was.  Trying to think the positive.

I'm not sure if this is how I'm supposed to respond.  Should I reply to your post or create a new post? Anyway...

I am 47 years old and live in Lincoln, NE. This is my third attempt at SB.  In my previous attempts it was all about losing the weight, then would come day 4 and off the wagon I would fall. Dang. 

I currently weigh 239.0 and I have been averaging a weight gain of about 10 pounds a year. My cholesterol and blood pressure are off the charts and I most generally feel run down and am irritable most days.  My feet, back and basically whole body is crying for help, so this time around on SB I am doing this for my health.

I know if I follow the plan, weight loss will be a bonus.

I will post a before picture soon (I'm trying to figure out "photo bucket").

Weigh in today at 154.2 lbs.  I am 55 years old.  About 3 years ago I lost 30 pounds at a diet center that is now out of business.  I had to starve myself to get to the weight goal but I had the incentive of my children's weddings that year. The incentive is now gone and that is not a way to live.  I gained back about 20 pounds and need to get back on track.  I am wheat sensitive so there is more available to eat with South Beach than most other weight loss plans.

Hello, Today is my first day with SB and so looking forward to the 2010 New Years Challenge with my 2 sisters and 2 friends. We will all be supporting each other and sharing receipes.I love this site so much, good info, I'm sure this will help me on my new life style of eating. I will be posting my pics later today. My weight today is 190 and my goal is 150.
