I am in week two of phase one and doing well.  I am concerned about entering Phase 2.  Any proven ideas?

What you are feeling is something we have ALL felt, I promise.  My best advice to you is post your meals in the food log thread of the phase 2 boards, welcome the thoughtful advise of the forum volunteers and frequenters, and be sure to reintroduce fruits and starches beginning with a serving each every day and working up to 3 servings each per day over your first few weeks of Phase 2.

Expect your weight loss to stall that first week or so.  You may even gain back a pound or two.  I don't understand the dynamics of that the way the volunteers do, but I have seen that it happens to many (but not all) when they first jump onto the phase 2 train.  It WILL pass and your scale will start moving down again.

It really, really helps tp keep a log of what you are eating, so you can be sure you are getting all the nutrition that is required to do well.  The food logs are GREAT for that, because you will get feedback and support.  But at least write it down SOMEWHERE!

Welcome to Phase 2!!!!

I too just entered phase 2 and felt discouraged that my weightloss stopped the past week.  Thanks for the words of encouragement and advice!

I am scared to death.  When I ate a fruit, I felt a desire to eat more.  On phase 1 I was not hungry.  This is hard

I also had a difficult time reintroducing fruits.  I read the posts/advise about this a LOT and experimented with times of day, serving sizes, various kinds of fruits, and what to eat the fruits with.  I kept a written log of the reintroduced fruits for many days along with notes.  Try this!  I found really early on, for example, that a dish of strawberries with fat-free half & half was VERY filling!  But if I ate it with breakfast after the main course, I was doomed to eating too much of it or suffering from cravings because I did not!  So instead, I would fix my favorite wilted spinach or other greens topped with 1T trans-free margarine, a dash of tabasco, a crumbled HB egg, and a slice of ff american and eat my serving of fruit along with THAT.  Mind you... if I ate the good breakfast and THEN the fruit (with or without the H&H), I still found it difficult to stop at one serving of fruit.  BUT I quickly discovered that if I ate my fruit serving first or WHILE eating the veggie/protien part of brkfst I was fully satisfied and still enjoyed the fruit!

That's just one sample of what you might find.  Surprising though, huh!  And it seems to be different for everyone.  Also, for me, I can eat my fruit serving as a later-evening or pre-bedtime dessert and it is sooo satisfying and (except for bananas) never causes cravings.  Yet I see often that folks can ONLY eat their fruits mid-day, or some other criteria.  The point is to play around with when you eat them and what you eat them with.  Keep notes.  And, rmember - - not every fruit is created equal!  :)

Also, you must remember - - that "desire to eat more" is NOT hunger.  It's cravings and cravings you can control - just by knowing what causes them and when they are amost likely to occur from one food to the next.
