Congratulations to our three grand-prize winners of the 2009 Fall Walking Challenge:
FeelingGreat140NH_GalSandyGrTheir terrific contributions to this challenge, week after week, have earned them all a great prize package that includes an invitation to participate in an exclusive teleconference with The South Beach Diet author and cardiologist Arthur Agatston, M.D.
Their posts from the challenge's final week illustrate the commitment and dedication of each of our winners. Take a look:
From FeelingGreat140:
Well this challenge did it! My weight loss is finally moving in the right direction instead of staying on a plateau!!! Yippeeeee. do feel better now that walking is a regular part of my routine. It is getting darker earlier now so I don't always get out for an evening walk but I am now starting my colder weather routine where I get up and do Pilates in the morning that way if it is too dark when I get home I can add a treadmill jaunt if I can't walk outside.
For my reward....I think I will go out and buy a new Mother of the Bride dress to fit my new positive look and attitude. My dear daughter is getting married in two weeks and usually the thought of family pictures would have sent me into a terror but now I am looking forward to these pictures this time that will show off the new me!
I can't wait to see what the next challenge will be.
From NH_Gal:
My reward is that I've gotten back into the walking mode!!! I have done 4 days in a row of walking and it feels so good. Soon I will switch back (like the clocks) to my A.M. walking time. I guess a small little something could be in order, but will wait until this firmly sticks before that happens. Looking forward to the end of Nov. challenge!
From SandyGr:
It is hard to believe eight weeks are over, am really excited to have completed the fall walking challenge successfully, I am walking a longer distance daily and have picked up my walking pace!!! I will be rewarding myself this week, I'm flying to Hangzhou, China for 10 days to visit my son. My son walks everywhere in his city and it is a good feeling to know that I will be able to keep up with him. Plus; he has many tours planned for me that involve walking that I know I will be able to enjoy. I feel that I truly am being rewarded for being a healthier person by being able to enjoy my vacation to the fullest!!!
Thank you for challenging me and helping me reach my fall walking goals.
Again, our congratulations to all three of our winners, as well as to all South Beachers who participated in this challenge. For the true goal of this and any challenge is to continue your journey to health, fitness, and well-being. And in so doing, we're all winners!
See you next week as we kick off the Holiday Survival Challenge! And coming soon after that, it's the big one, our annual New Year's Challenge!
