Thanks to this community, I have been able to focus on the diet. I just hit the 5# mark!   I have enjoyed all of the posts, and feel like I have friends who are traveling the same path.  Now it does not seem to be such an uphill climb!  Thanks, Annie

Chocolate Chip/Banana Smoothie

  • 1/3 Cup powdered milk (fat free)
  • 1/3 Cup water
  • 1/2 Teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 Packet Truvia (stevia)
  • 1/2 Square Baker's unsweetened Baking Chocolate. (100% Cacao)
  • 1/2 Frozen Banana
  • Crushed ice - just to make the thick consistency

Put all ingredients in blender.  Reserve part of the chocolate to add last to blender (to leave small chunks) + a little piece to shave on top as a garnish.  Blend until thick and creamy.  Add ice slowly so you get the perfect smoothie consistency.

Looks good, do you have any idea how adding 2 tablespoons of peanut butter would affect the consistency?

Hi Shawn,

I have never added peanut butter to a smoothie.  What an interesting idea.  I'll try it and get back to you.  Just the frozen banana made the consistency less icy and a bit creamier.  The peanut butter should certainly make it smooth.  Can't wait.

Good Morning Shawn,

I tried adding peanut butter this morning to my smoothie.  Actually, I deleted the chocolate and added 2 tablespoons of peanut butter + 2 teaspoons of fresh ginger.  It is great!  The peanut butter gives the protein for my morning meal?  Thanks for the suggestion.  Annie

Ohhh, fresh ginger.  I never would have thought of that.

I asked about peanut butter because I was semi addicted to Reeses as a kid, and I'd love to find a grerat way to catch that flavor again, without having to worry that I no longer have the metabolism of a 13 year old kid.

Also with the milk and the peanut butter, it's a little more proteiney (ok I know that isn't really a word, but ti gets the point across), than it would be otherwise, but not what I would consider diet busting by any stretch.

I knew I liked you for a reason other than the outfits you wear ocassionally.
I loved Reeses too as a kid.
