I have just found out that because I'm resident in the UK, I cannot enter the challenge! boo hoo! it's not fair to exclude me!
I've also found out that when I'll want to cancel my subscription, I will have to phone, rather than a UK number it's a US number, so I'll have to find out about how to phone the US first, then work out at what time to ring, and pay for the call. What a shame! the net offers goodies like this online diet to people from everywhere, but the system is not geared for dealing with us. This is the only reason I am unable to recommend this great diet to my friends. Could South Beach improve on this?

yep, I signed up this morning and then grumpily deleted it when I saw the location conditions
Any chance an 'ineligibles for prizes' or 'warning, contains Brits' badge/ signature line would let us outsiders join in?

I sure do wish that EVERYBODY could enter! But remember that it is not the sight that sets up those restrictions - - it is the states/other locations where you are.
I'm so glad I live in a state where I can win in the challenges... but even if I didn't, I think it would be a blast to follow the threads and even submit ideas. And cheer the rest of you on, the way Z and Beachvan do! We want to hear from ALL OF YA! :)

of course I wish everyone on the challenge all the best.
And I'm not bothered about not being able to win a prize, but I can't really post to the thread with ideas/ join in regardless cos it would be too confusing for the administrators of the challenge if people do that. (which is irritating: understandable, but irriating /vent off)
Anyway, have fun and good luck. I may be lurking : )

And what you state isn't necessarily so either. I am in Canada and can enter many American sweepstake type contests as well as skill contests (only Quebec amongst our provinces is excluded by their own laws). So our jurisdiction would let me win, but SB would not. What's with that? I pay my dues same as anyone else.
So sorry about the contest restrictions and hassle with TPTB.
But I gotta say, if I had a choice of entering and having a picnic here in the states and not entering and having a picnic in the UK, well, I'd give up the contest in a heartbeat!
Lucky you to live in the UK!

Ohhhhhhh! I stand corrected. I clearly don't understand how it all figures in like I thought I did, so I won't do any more guessing. I AM sorry that you cannot participate for the prizes though! :( And hope that we'll still get to see your posts, hear about your successes and have the opportunity to support you in your journey in ways that might partly make up for this "injustice".
Hi WorthIt,
I'm sorry about the restrictions regarding foreign, unfortunately, that's based on legal issues.
As for cancellation, we understadn the issues and complications with foreign enrolled members trying to cancel, and as long as you clarify that you're asking to cancel from the UK, you won't need to give us a call.

Oh and any foreign enrolled members, feel free to play with us. Everyone here would be happy if you were to include your SB friendly recipes and experiences. Just be aware that you aren't eigible to receive prizes.
Hey Bitsy,
Unfortunately, I can't speak for legal on the US only language, but this is the rules they came up with in order for us to comply.
