If I'm not mistaken, we're about 1/2 way through the challenge. How is everyone doing? I'm doing ok. Ate well over vacation, had some stress recently, and let that get to me a bit. Made some choices that will only slow me down. Back on track now. Very concious of what I am eating for carbs and making sure I get the veggies, dairy and beans in. That seems to really make a difference for me. Hope you all are enjoying the month of August and what's left of summer. Two more weeks here, and school starts up again. Teacher workshop days on the 24th and 25th, then students on the 26th, and then we are off and running. Planning a play date vacation with hubby over Labor Day weekend to rest and recharge for the fall. Have a great week!!!

It sounds like you are doing great! You are an inspiration! I've been procrastinating again about the gym, i have a trainer that i never see, i gotta get moving while the gettin's good darn it! maybe tomorrow....anyway I'm not doing bad, i've lost i think 4 lbs in one week which was awesome, but it took me two weeks to get there if you know what i mean. I have gone down in one full size of clothing so i am really stoked about that, but still havent went out and bought any clothse that fit me...yet. No time. I cant beleive we are already halfway thorugh August, where does the time go. I too start teaching August 26 at night, which is going to increase my workload because i still have my day-job, what was i thinking when i signed up for that i dont know! Anyhoo, i am having fun and i love losing weight!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just returned from a week long vacation as well where I wasn't always in charge of meals (3 full days of wedding events and staying in a "host" home). I think that I did pretty well and we did a lot of working out - walking EVERYWHERE, chasing my 16 month old through a non-child proofed house and trying to keep up a little from my regular routine.

Weight wise, I kept steady and perhaps even lost about half a pound - hard to tell exactly but I feel good about where I am and heading to smaller!  I did buy an outfit for a another wedding that is in early October - it fits a little snug right now but that will just be more motivation to keep it going!

For my challenge goal, I only have one more pound to go - I think that I underestimated but I was really worried about keeping up the good stuff during this trip.

I hope that everyone else is enjoying their summer and their August - I know that for some it means back to a different schedule with school, work and kids but hopefully you will be able to keep up the good parts of South Beach.

Any suggestions you ladies might have about how to get my ticker looking more like a regular one, would be much appreciated!

blessings,
Stacy

Good job on making the best choices possible. And walking is fabulous exercise! Congrats on your short-goal. Don't know if I'll make it or not. Don't know what's up with the ole bod, but doesn't want to seem to let go of the extra weight. I'll keep going. It's gotta go sometime. I can be as stubborn as the weight! (More so, actually!!!)

Thanks for the encouragement!  Yes, if you keep at it then the weight will come off - nice that one of the emails this week was about plateaus and I hope that some of those hints helped you out.

I am interested in knowing more about your screen name - prophetess?  Professionally?  Personal?  Just curious.

blessings,
Stacy

Deborah was a prophetess in the old testament. And I'm a mom of 3. No one else ever uses that combination, so although a bit unwieldly, seems to be mine alone. And she was a confidant of King David (my DH's name) so it seemed to fit.
