I"m in too.   I debated between this and the habit one, but this is an area I've been working hard on lately so this is the team for me.

Hey you!  Good to see you on the team.  Since you are working with your grandkids on eating the SBD way, you are going to have some great ideas for "teens and kids" meal preps!

...and I'm finding that to be a difficult task.    Been working all weekend on ideas for a teen that hates breakfast.   Finally came up with smoothies that she can down on her way to school.  I haven't heard how it went this morning yet.  Hopefully she liked it.

Thank you.  If I had had make-up on, I'd have taken a photo without the shades.  Next time!

So we are supposed to introduce ourselves to our teammates.  But you guys already know me, right?

I expect we will have some folks who don't know me, though, and therefore, here goes.

I'm TL and I've been eating (trying to eat) the SBD way for nearly 4 years.  In that time, I lost 100 pounds, gained back about 35 when I decided I didn't need to pay attention and that exercise was taking up too much time - big mistake! - and am almost done with re-losing those gained pounds.  I re-dedicated myself this summer and am looking forward to losing some NEW pounds before the end of the year.  (I have more to lose; I'm taking it in 25-pound chunks, but I really focus on one pound at a time.)

I have a 13 year old daughter who loves raw vegetables and is slim, a DH who loves junk food, a dog, and a couple of cats.  I work from home right now, so I'm fortunate to not have a commute (or an office where people bring in tempting stuff).  DH has junk around, but I'm not (usually) tempted by it.  He and my daughter are not as big of a fan of cooked veggies as I am, so I frequently make vegetable dishes that are just for me.  Sometimes they have a pizza and I make an entire meal just for me.  And sometimes we all eat the same thing.

I work out in the pool 5-6 days per week - deep and shallow water aerobics, intervals, water jogging/running.  I've been doing this in the early mornings before work lately, which I like because it frees up my evenings.

I like to cook, but I really like it when something is EASY, but yet tastes really good.  Tonight's dinner is likely going to be griilled pork loin chops, grilled summer squashes, and sauteed mushrooms.  Pretty routine, but it will be tasty.

So there you have it!  We have a whole week until our first challenge, so I'll see you all here!

Like TheresaLynn, I believe everyone here knows me as well, but I'll so an into as well.

I'm Catmadam.  I first joined the site a few days before it officially opened in June  2003 and I've been here ever since.   I lost 81 pounds and actually reached goal, but like TL slacked off and gained a little over 30 pounds back.

I have recomitted myself and am working really hard on getting back to goal.  Age and medications are not on my side, but I truly believe I will do it again.   I live alone, which really helps.   I do have grandchildren in my house almost daily, though, often over night, so I have to find foods to eat when they are around that will satisfy us all.   My daughter's entire family started SouthBeach this week, so I'm hoping they will stay with it and that will make my job a lot easier when the kids are around.  The oldest one (almost 14) is really enthusiastic about it and even eating foods that she thought she didn't like (she told me it was try them or die from hunger but to her surprise the foods are good).  The 11 year old was freaking out at first and his mom finally told him he could eat non-SBD when away from home but at home he had to eat like the rest of them.  His competitive spirit took over, though, and now he may be the most enthusiastic of the bunch and eager to show that he can do it.    The youngest is 2 and she always wants whatever is on my plate anway so she's not a problem.

Exercise is one of the things that I need to work on the most.  Time is a big problem there, but I'm working on it.  I have an elliptical and am moving it out to my garage now that the weather is cooler because I just really didn't have a spot where I could plug it in and still have room to use it in the house.  I also have a Wii game called "Walk It Out" that I do a lot that is really good exercise and makes the time go by so much faster.  That has been the main thing that I"ve used lately.  I need to add some strength training to my program and I'll be good to go there.

I'm doing my grocery shopping these days on Thursday afternoons and then spending part of Sunday afternoon prepping for the meals for the coming week.  Having everything planned and ready to go makes sticking with the plan so easy.

It would be foolish of me to commit more than support to this thread as I'm going to be on the road most of the next two months.  But I wish everyone good luck!  Where I can, I'll pitch in.

My Name is Tracy. I am 37 yo and I am a prepping fiend. On days that I work I work 12 hours so I need to prep everything on my days off. I live in Phoenix. I am recently married and my weight loss goal is 25-30 pounds. I am also recently coming from the Atkins diet.

Hi everyone! I think (and hope!) there's still room for one more on this team. I'm new to the beach (2 days into Phase1), so I think I owe everyone an introduction. I'm Leah....28 years old, married, one child (2 year old little boy). I, along with the rest of my family, have been overweight forever. My husband (who had lap band surgery almost a year ago and who is down 100+lbs) and I are committed to changing this cycle for our child(ren). My first goal is 10lbs on my way to a total of 65lbs. I definitely know my way around the kitchen, but as a working mom with a busy schedule, meal prep is going to be CRUCIAL to successfully staying on the beach. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you in the coming weeks!

Hi folks,

I'd like to toss my hat into the ring. I"m new to SBD - I have a little over 100lbs to lose and my Dr. recommended this plan.

I'm a retired chef. That means that butter, cream, cheese, oils and fatty meats have been my best friends for years. I see that I need to RADICALLY change my attitude in the kitchen.

I decided on this particular team because I love cooking (obviously) and while I don't often have time between working, which I now do from home, and looking after my 2 kids, to cook glorious meals, I do what I can.

Now i just need to do better.

I also have a gazillion questions about the plan. But I'll get it figured out. Right  now I'm sticking with "no carbs at all unless they're in bean form". Ha. I hate beans!
