Now I'm Psyched!

After reading all of your entries, how can I not be ready for the challenge!  You are all very inspirational with your stories.  I started South Beach January 2 of 2006, and had lost 45 pounds by June.  I started at 185 and was able to get down to 140 in those first six months.  I could not believe how great I felt.  Unfortunately, like many others, I have put several pounds back on due to lack of exercise and going back to bad eating habits.  This challenge is just what I needed to get me motivated again.  I gained back 23 pounds in total, and my new goal weight is 130.  I have been back on South Beach for about a month, and have only lost five pounds.  A few vacations and a few "oh, that one treat won't hurt" sprinkled in and I don't seem to be getting anywhere.
I tried really hard my first two weeks, not cheating at all, and was disappointed with losing just five pounds.  Of course, I'm sure that the lack of exercise didn't help.
I'm so glad that I logged on to South Beach today and found this challenge!  I am so ready to succeed and to be a good and helpful buddy!
Let's Go Girls!!!

Hi Milton_Mom, Good for you for starting again!  Know that when you restart, you generally don't lose quite like you did the first time, for a number of reasons. 1) you are probably eating more healthfully than before you started the first time, 2) we generally lose about 10% of the weight we want to lose in P1, so if you want to lose 80 pounds, you might lose 8, but if you are only looking to lose 25, you might lose 2-3 and 3) I think it gets a little harder each time we have to start over. But you can do this. And you have made the best decision to do it again, and be healthy! Good luck to you!

Hi prophetessmomof 3!! You raised some very good points in your email to MiltonMom about starting over on South Beach.   Also, I have asked several people how to get the widget thing on my page. The little ticker thing on people's pages  . . . But no one ever answers me.  Can you tell me how to do it?

Sure. Go to tickerfactory.com or click on my ticker to take you there. It explains the whole process to make a ticker. When you are done, you need to go to "My Preferences", scroll down, hit the radio button (under the signature box) for html, paste that code in there, then hit the WYSIWYG button, to see if it took. If it did, then keep scrolling down, hit the "submit" button several times so it "takes" and you should have it. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! And good luck!
