Ready to go!!
2010 here i come. I started SB last year June. Lost about 3 pant sizes, leaning towards the 4th. Then of course came the holidays, gained 3 lbs, happy about that however since i made like 8 dozen tamales and a cazillion pounds of fudge, time to get back on track. Going back to phase 1. This is the best life changing experience I've ever attempted and thus far have succeeded. This year is going to be different as i have vowed to exercise, yes i said. I am really going to do it this year and yes I've lost all those inches on this SBD without exercises.Just think how much i would have lost if i had been exercising? hmm. Good luck to you all, hope to see you all at the finish line!!
Hi Color
Welcome to the 2010 Challenge! I'm looking forward to working with you and the others as we continue our lifestyle modifications toward health. My journey so far looks very much like yours. I started on the Beach a little over a year ago. I lost 28 pounds in 2009, and have about that same amount to go--looks like we're both about half way there. Go us! I would really like to accomplish before May when my daughter is getting married!
I am fighting to lower my cholesterol--can't take statins, so it's all about diet and exercise. For me, keeping a food log and exercise log is absolutely critical. Geekdome can't be denied. My biggest dietary challenge is getting in getting enough soluble fiber--the 5 cups of veggies doesn't always do it. Long live bok choy.
cheers and good luck.

Hello Ladies. I am excited about this year as well and, ready to go, I also have a May deadline. I am going to Mexico with my hubby for our 10 year anniversery. I have 27lbs (would like 32, but I am not trying to set myself up for dissappointment) to lose by May and on SB I believe it is completely attainable. I gained back 5lbs over the holidays, which with the way I was eating, I am pretty happy that 5lbs was all I gained. I will load my picts sometime this week.
Hi CMH, I'm Julian and have been on SB for a few years and I believe this is my 4th New Years Challenge. My name is Julian. I started SBD at 184 pounds, so have lost 20 pounds and been able to keep it off, except for some small ups and downs, but I have been maintaining at the 164 range and not closer to my goal, so I am doing the challenge once again in hopes of getting myself moving again. The good news, although I have not been perfect with staying on the plan, it has become enough of a lifestyle change to allow me to not regain the 20 pounds I loss. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and the other "Challenger" this year.

Hey there! What you say is so right, I know that with good dieting you can lose weight, just imagine the outcome if you worked out. I NEED to get consistent with the work outs. I had a baby 15 months ago and gained alot of weight. i already lost 42 pounds and have 40+ more to go...My body is so different now after having a kid and losing weight is just SO MUCH harder. I have struggled with weight my whole life and so i know how to lose it, just doenst work the same after the baby came...anyways, so here is to a good support system between the message boards and our will power to excerisize and stick to this! I mean, i am SO TIRED of losing the same pound over and over again. just dont want to be back, i want this to work and stick.....and i realize its all in my hands. GOOD LUCK everyone!
**can anyone help me with getting my ticker to appear on my posts? I created one, now what?!?!?!?!

You bet it is going to be fun! I love seeing the pictures of your grandbabies. How are you doing? Are you finally off nights?
Nice to meet you Lil' Engine. Congrats on the weight loss, thus far.Feels hecka good doesnt it? I am starting back on Phase 1 to help rid the cravings that i've been denying through Christmas. Went shopping using the SBD Phase 1 shopping list and i am ready to go. I am also starting the Supercharge exercising program. I too want to lower my LDL, i am borderline according to my doc. I am looking forward to getting this number down. Congrats on your daughter's soon to be wedding. My son graduates in May is about all I've got going on this year, oh yeah and the youngest about to get a drivers permit (yites!). I just want to get in shape, feel compfy, and wear smaller (than the ones i wear now) clothes and hopefully live longer healthier. I have never had bok choy knowingly.
Talk to you soon!!

Wow, you look great. You are right, we're just about on the same page for our goals and accomplishes. I am looking forward to this. I started a journal and hope to log this 100 day journey. I am not a logger so we'll see how that goes for me. I am starting back on Phase 1 to help kick start this journey, it worked once before I'm counting on it working again.
Good luck with you and i am sure we will chat often!!

Congrats on your daughter's wedding. My daughter is getting married in April which does NOT give me enough time to reach my goal, but I will be a lot closer by then!!
I know we all can do it by supporting each other!!

Looks like almost everyone has something they are looking forward to in the coming year!! Congrats on all the exciting things! I don't have anything specific coming up, but started SB (for the second time..first was feb 2006..didnt stick with it, drank too much wine, etc) in Sept 2009 as part of a work diet challenge. I dropped weight so easily and felt so great I kept it up. Consequently, I won the contest..254.00! First thing we did was go out to eat..lol...spent the rest on clothes!
Anyhow...I have lost a good deal of weight (~44lbs) and feel really good. Now, I want to get even lower than my first goal weight of 150 and try for 140. I live at the beach and ya cant hide under sweaters much of the year, plus not carrying all that extra weight in the summer will be liberating! I think having a challenge will be motivating for me to keep going towards my goal.
Occurred to me the other day that i am about 20 lbs BELOW my driver's license weight...! I always fudged it pretty heavily but now I think I may have to have it corrected to the right weight! GOOO South Beach!!!
Keep it up ladies...and gentlemen....it works! Believe me, I've had a life-long battle with weight..I've tried it all. This is the one that makes it easy to follow..al you have to do is be willing.
