well, i made some big changes here to start the new year..  i cancelled my cable so im not a couch potato anymore.  i joined a gym, and im aiming for 5 days a week of working out.  im doing phase 1, and so far im doing great.  no way i paid good money for a gym to suffer the beginning aches and pains for nothing.  i am using this challenge and phase 1 to jump start myself into the losing phase.  i hit my goal once, and this time im going to stay there when i hit it.

so, how are you doing the first week of the challenge??

I am new here but I love your posts.  It is so motivating see that you made your goal on SB.  I need to hear those things to help stay motivated.

I really want to cancel my TV but the hubby won't let me.  I am the one that falls prey to the couch though.  Maybe if I sit down and talk to him more I can make it happen.  We will see.

Thanks for being on here and being so motivating!

Hi My name is Tami and I have been on the SBD for many years and this healthy way of eating is how I am able to manage my weight.  I had in the past couple of  years been doing great at keeping my weight stabilized but the past year I turned 50 and in addition to other factors such as stress, job loss and now a new job, I am fighting a battle to lose 20 pounds I have gained since July 2009.  I am feeling very motivated this week since beginnng again to work at losing this weight I have gained.  I feel confident that I will succeed over time, but need to give myself the time to lose this weight.  I always get frustrated if I do not lose the weight as fast as I want to and end up sabotaging myself.  This time I understand some of my problem areas and why I slip off the beach from time to time and am working to correct these issues and learn new behaviors that will enable me to get back in the losing mode again and get to the goal weight I so want to reach.  I live in a small town in WV.  I  just recently started a new job after being unemployed for over 6 months.  I am loving being able to go back to work and feel so lucky to have been chosen for my new job as Secretary.  I have my husband and my six fur babies to come home to at the end of my day and then we all enjoy a nice time together sharing time with each other in our happy place.  I hope everyone is enjoying the benefits of the SBD lifestlye and are feeling as great as I am this week after a happy holiday of too much eating,  I am so glad to be back on the beach.  LIFE IS GOOD ON THE BEACH!!!!

Weezee, you rock!

I didn't cancel my cable, but I cancelled the plus package with all the movies.  I haven't joined a gym yet, cuz I'm about to start travelling so much and figure I can use the ones in the hotels on the road and when I'm home I have lots of work that needs to be done!

I'm not on P1 but watching everything. If I don't get rid of this night time "wants" I'm gonna go back on Phase 1

Hey Tawnia,

I don't have a dh to blame, so I'm trying to plan my t.v. like I plan my meals (I'm still working on this).

We need to check on each other to keep us motivated to do something other than t.v.

You turned 50?  Really? Truly, I'm shocked.  I've known you on these boards for a while and I thought you in maybe early 40's but usually figured late 30's. You look marvelous darling and you are a poster girl for healthy SBD!

umm, lets see if this will post, lol..  having a problem posting on these boards.  keep getting rejected messages..

yup, no cable here, and so far im not missing it.  im keeping busy with the computer, the gym, dvds, and reading..  definitely like that my bill this month was only $42 instead of $102, lol......

those "wants" at night can definitely be a downfall, and something that needs to be taken care of girl..  i had that problem, so what i did was put up messages and pictures of myself on the frig, on the cabinets with food, near my computer, on the bathroom mirror, etc.  things like "nothing tastes as good as thin does", "i will not eat at night", im losing weight for me, etc...  ya gotta trick that mind..

now lets see if this message will go, lol......    gggrrrrr

hey tawnia........  my last message went, so im trying to post to you again, lol..  ive tried writing back three times only to get rejected..

im so glad you joined the challenge.  its going to be a great starter point for you..  and yes SB really does work.  you just have to make losing the weight the most important thing in your life.  do it for you.  let nothing and no one get in your way..  i did this once, and i can do it again..  a few years ago on the challenge i hit goal.  it was the greatest feeling, and i want that feeling back..

you hang in there.  use these message boards for all the support and inspiration you need to get it done.  scream for help instead of reaching for food you shouldnt be eating.  we are all in this together.  you are no longer alone   : )

now, lets see if this message will go, lol...   ggggrrrrr

oh my god, im 2 for 2 on sending messages, lol......  going to try and post to you again and see if it will go..  3 for 3 would be great..

yup, life on the beach is great.  i agree 100%.  i feel so much better emotionally and physically when i stick on the beach and dont mess up..  stress is a big factor i think for alot of us.  we have to learn how to deal with stress besides running for food, which never solves the problem, only makes things worst..  i joined a gym for this reason.  instead of grabbing for food, im running to the gym.  ive also put post em notes all over my house to remind me where i want to be this year.  food is not our friend.

congratulations on finding a job tami.  i know that caused alot of stress..  now lets make this challenge work for us to get us on the right track.  keep posting, its much better then reaching for food   : )
