Weight is still 228 pounds.  I have increased my exercise to 30 minutes a day on my elliptical trainer set on random resistance.  I typically do 1.6 mile equivalents in 30 minutes.  I also have a couple of DVDs with strength and balance training that I did twice last week.  If we ever get our house sold and get to terrain where I can walk and get outside, I will be a much happier person!

Nice to see you on weigh-in Monday.  I am getting cabin fever - typical of Minnesota winters - unfortunately I live in North Carolina where I don't expect this kind of winter!  I am in a much better frame of mind this week - I have given up on the weight just exercising more and watching what I eat to be healthier!

Hi Richard and fellow Challengers,

I'm weighing-in at 210, a pound loss from last week.  Very surprised and extremely happy -- I lost 3 lbs last week and was ready to accept a week with no loss this time.  I walked 25 miles last week, though, and I think that helped keep the weight loss going.

You are doing great, do you have any tricks to sustain such dedication...I find I loose sight of my goal every once in a while, gain one pound or so and have to start again...
Thanks.

Happy to be the same weight as last week. Unhappy that my eating hasn't been good and I felt I was lucky that I hadn't gained.

thanks sophie..  sometimes i cant believe it myself how well im doing this time around.  i have tried numerous times to get back in the groove of losing and back to goal, only to fail.  this time im doing it. no slips or trips along the way..  my goal is to be back at goal and weighing in at 125 pounds by july 4th.  i have sticking notes up all over the place to remind me of that date so i dont go grabbing anything extra or not on plan.  i also have inspirational notes up to keep me going.  im finding the time to go to the gym and get on this site to give me inspiration and support..  i felt great when i was at goal, and i want that back  : )

Sad to say I am up a pound and a half to 154 this week. Ate too much of the wrong foods last weekend and had to travel all week.  The eating wasn't so bad on the road, but the irregularity of meals and the lack of exercise contributed to the weight gain, no doubt.  Hope for more stability and discipline next week

This last week was a killer!  I only gained 1 pound but it was a struggle to try to eat only good food.  Traveling and eating in restaurants is terrible when you are watching what you are eating.  Even if it says "roasted lamb chops" -- the menu doesn't go into detail about the rich sauces, roasted potatoes, and other stuff that come on the plate.  Plus, the portions -- most meals were twice as much as the portions we should have been eating.  I tried VERY hard to be as good as I could.  Snacks between meals were really impossible unless I grabbed a yogurt -- full of sugar and calories -- so, I skipped snacks most of the days.  There was no place to store the left-overs.  I hated to throw away all that delicious food -- not to mention the cost of most meals.  As a result, I really ate much more than I should have for 5 days.  I feel really lucky that it only added ONE pound and not 5 or more..  So, I am weighing in at 137.  Oh, the other thing I noticed is that when we left on the trip, I took a pair of slacks that had been tight in the past, but were fitting fine so I packed them.  On day 4 of my trip, I was going to wear my slacks -- and guess what -- they were uncomfortably tight.  So, even though the pounds are not coming off as fast as I want, I can see that the right foods are making a difference in how my clothes fit.
