Congratulations—you did it! You're entering the eighth and final week of the Fall Walking Challenge. Give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back for all of your hard work. Then reward yourself with something that will keep your commitment going, like a new pair of walking shoes, a mobile music device to walk with, new exercise clothes, or a gym membership. By keeping yourself moving past the 8 weeks of the Challenge, you’ll continue to feel healthier and more energized. And by combing regular exercise with a healthy eating plan, you’ll reach your weight-loss goals even faster. Be sure to join us for the next challenge, coming up at the end of November.

LOL....I jumped the gun a little on my reward I guess.  I recently bought a new mp3 player that has wireless headphones.  I'm anxious to try it out, so that will serve as my reward.  It has more memory and a separate menu section for audio books.  Seems like this 8 weeks went by so fast!  I'll be sure to continue my walking and exercise along with staying with the SB food plan.  I'll be sure to watch for the next challenge too.

What is the brand name.  I'm looking of a mp3 player.  I'm running out of room in mine.  It's just not a reward but a necessary reward!!

Well this challenge did it!  My weight loss is finally moving in the right direction instead of staying on a plateau!!! Yippeeeee.  I do feel better now that walking is a regular part of my routine.  It is getting darker earlier now so I don't always get out for an evening walk but I am now starting my colder weather routine where I get up and do pilates in the morning that way if it is too dark when I get home I can add a treadmill jaunt if I can't walk outside.
For my reward....I think I will go out and buy a new Mother of the Bride dress to fit my new positive look and attitude.  My dear daughter is getting married in two weeks and usually the thought of family pictures would have sent me into a terror but now I am looking forward to these pictures this time that will show off the new me!
I can't wait to see what the next challenge will be.

Thanks so much.  It will be a great time I am sure once the stress of getting last minute rooms, etc... is out of the way.  We picked her dress out this summer and she does look beautiful in it.   I have mixed feelings about shopping for a dress.  I want to wear a nice dress but I am not really a shopper.  Hubby and I are going out this weekend for a shopping date.  I'm sure it will be fun and he will be very helpful in helping me find just the right dress.  I will need all my SB buddies to be wishing for a beautiful sunny Vermont day on the 14th as we know the weather can be tempermental this time of year.  Hey I like your new walking pic.  Which wonderful sunny beach are you on.  Hey I just noticed that you are almost half way to your goal!!! Kudos.

It is hard to believe eight weeks are over, am really excited to have completed the fall walking challenge succesfully, I am walking a longer distance daily and have picked up my walking pace!!!  I will be rewarding myself this week, I'm flying to Hangzhou, China for 10 days to visit my son.  My son walks everywhere in his city and it is a good feeling to know that I will be able to keep up with him.  Plus; he has many tours planned for me that involve walking that I know I will be able to enjoy.  I feel that I truly am being rewarded for being a healthier person by being able to enjoy my vacation to the fullest!!!

Thank you for challenging me and helping me reach my fall walking goals.

The one I got is an RCA S2501 Jet Stream. It's 1 GB, so you may be wanting something bigger.  I did try to connect the wireless headphone and had some trouble with that.  The earbuds seem large, so I don't know if I'll really like them.  I also have a Zen Stone with a speaker that is real small and handy, but there isn't any menu or sections except what you can see when it's hooked up to the computer.  I have never had an Ipod, so don't know about those.

You're doing well with the walking......do you think DS will be surprised when you keep up with no problem??  Last winter when I was walking early at the HS gym, my DDIL met me to walk.  I used to have trouble keeping up with her, but my son told me she said I walked her legs off!  That was nice to hear. :-)  You'll have a great trip!

Do you have a wedding coming up too...or did you mean you will follow in my footsteps on our walks?  It has been great walking with all of you.

No weddings for me, Deb.  My kiddos are all 3 married. Well.....I do have a coworker getting married next Sat, but no family weddings to get to buy a new dress for. :-)  I was referring to following in your footsteps on the walking.  Can't wait to see what you get for the wedding.  I know you'll look great!

Thanks...I don't think there is much following going on here;o)  You and I are about neck and neck with walking this month.  So let's just take wonderful jaunts around our respective countrysides and share what we have seen.

Sounds good to me. :-)  I walked a mile this evening in my neighborhood and through the cemetery.  I'm hoping to get back to the park to walk tomorrow right after work if the weather is nice.  It's getting dark so early, though, since the time changed.  I think it was dark by 6:15 this evening

Well in reply I could tell you what my walk should have been last night.  I ended up waiting for over an hour for Momma cat to be seen at the vets.  Nothing serious she had just had a spat a week ago with a neighborhood cat and sustained a bite.  Now, as they tend to get, the bite area got infected.  It is funny though.  As I was thinking to myself and talking to others whose pets were in the waiting room, all I could think about was that I was not going to get my walk in tonight.   I guess that is a real change for me.  I guess this healthier lifestyle is really starting to stick!
I walk past 2 cemetaries on one of my walks.  I do pop in to check a stone I have been curious about once in awhile but never walk in there.  I should too because they are very well kept paths and have hills and gullies in them for challenge. Thanks for sharing.  I will get out tonight and see what I see.  They have put the s word in the forecast....Happy Walking.

My reward is that i've gotten back into the walking mode!!!   I have done 4 days in a row of walking and it feels so good.  soon I will switch back (like the clocks) to my am walking time.  I guess a small little something coukld be in order, but will wait until this firmly sticks before that happens.  Looking forward to the end of Nov. challenge!

So glad you joined us over on the walking board.  I enjoy the encouragement I get there.  In fact, I know I am a walker now because of the accountability on that board.  I am so inspired with how much everyone is walking now.  I don't dare make excuses because I want to make sure I am moving my tickers.
