I don't run into as many people who are doing the South Beach Diet as I would have a few years ago, however, most people are now aware that processed carbs are unhealthy and contribute to cravings. For that Dr. Agatston and the South Beach Diet can take a lot of the credit.
Personally, I know the Devil within only too well: carbs, lots and lots of carbs. From a simple plain bagel or dish of white rice to my own personal Nirvanna learned at summer camp cafeterias on the shores of the Great Lakes, a slice of Wonder Bread slathered with oleo and topped by a sparkling crown of table sugar, carbs are my diet downfall. If the South Beach Diet is able to tame my sugary cravings it will be a huge step toward normal weight and healthy eating habits. I can't wait!
