Admin Richard,
I have chosen to be on the workout squadron for this challenge.
If you know me at all, you know that my I put my heart and sole into my workouts.  I love to stay active in life and most of my workouts are just that (staying active) to me.
I have been told I am very motivating and very inspirational, weather you are on this team or not, if you read my posts, you will for sure want to get up and move more.
I look forward to this challenge.

Hi Miss_Barb,

Next time I'll see if I can "pick" your team for you!

So my good running intentions did not work out this weekend. I was sick! Blghhghgh. Meanwhile my daughter, Jackie ran her first half marathon. She did less than a 9 min. mile which is a best for her and since she has a new puppy she was very pleased with her time which was under 2 hours. 1:57? Anyhow, 13 miles is just ridiculous. Let alone on broken up puppy sleep.

I'll be happy to do 2 miles.

Ok, here I go!  To be honest Richard, I had picked two other teams, but when it came right down to it I knew that I needed to jump into this one to increase my exercises.  I can't wait to get started next week.

Did someone say Workout?  Sign me up!  I started my fresh start workout with nautilus and from a couch to a 5K the fifth week of the last challenge or it was the mix up your workout? I am still going very strong with that challenge and look forward to more exercise.

The scale is not my friend today but "inches away" I am in :-)

I miss these challenges.........look forward to the next one!

See all of you October 3rd.........

Rochelle,
Ok...you can pick my team anytime as far as I am concerned.

Hope you are feeling better...and when you do, you can start your running program.
Are you going to use a podcast or just on your own?  I can suggest a great podcast with a very handsome voice (Todd) as your trainer if you want.  Just let me know.
I will run as long and as far as Todd askes me to run...I just love that podcast.  If I can do it (with asthma) anyone can.

Tell your daughter congrads on her marathon...that is an awesome time.  I am very content to stay at 3-4 miles right now, but I do want to increase my speed.  My DH is helping me with that.  He ran with me this weekend and he set the pace and I kept up...he will increase the pace next run.  I can't wait.

Thanks Rochelle!  I am looking forward to it!  Besides my usual walking, I am fixing up my home gym.  I have a treadmill, cardioglyder, gazelle, exercise bike, weights and lots of exercise tapes and DVD's that I intend to start using again regularly.  I may be 67 years old, but I am not dead yet!

Thanks to you too, Barb!  Looking forward to working with you this time.

They keep me on track............I can not imagine not having the challenges.  I loved exercise and fitness boards but the diet to me is more important than the exercise.  Although you need exercise to keep the weight off for good.

At the gym I go to, the belief is the number one weight loss tool is a good diet, then comes the weight machines, and then comes the cardio.

I have had it backwards............I love the cardio, cheat on the diet and skip the weights until the last challenge when we were to mix up our workouts!

This is day 20 for me with daily exercise tomorrow will be a new habit for me.  A big day :-)

Thanks Rochelle "you have inspired me" again....the walking challenge worked great for me too but when it got hot out I stopped working out.

Jodi...
Woo hoo!  So glad you are here in the workout room.

I surprised you with that picture didn't I...I also posted my pic in the same walking suit back in May when we were doing the walking challenge.  I have put some blood sweat and tears into my workouts and they are paying off.  Remember when I had a hard time walking 7.5 miles that 1st week?

I am doing so much now...I will tell you all about for sure in a later posts...I like to call it muscle confusion.  I just love to do so many things, so that is what I do a lot of different things...but walking has and will always be the foundation of my activities.

I am with you...I can't believe it is me either...my mind hasn't caught up to my body...but the important thing is I FEEL GREAT!

9 minute mile "are you kidding me" that is great!  How long has she been running?

I have been told numerous times that running is bad for your knees and have stopped started stopped started.  I think that the worse things for your knees is "excess weight".

I think that I am jogging good when the treadmill is on 5 mph and that is a twelve minute mile.  I am impressed ............... did she get that from her mom?

Sharon,
You go girl...together we will all burn more calories than we thought possible.
I love my home gym...but I am exploring now and doing a spin class sometimes, and Zumba sometimes, and Jazz Dance with my daughter...and when anyone calls to go for a walk, I drop everything and I go.
Exercise is #1 for me...and it seems to be working.
